| (1) The Eurasian Association took part in the Singapore River Regatta for the very first time and made a big splash. | (2) For a team of mostly first-timers who have never taken up an oar before, the finishing time of 2 minutes 13 seconds was considered respectable against the Singapore Social Development Service (SDS) team who won the race in 1 minute 59 seconds. | |

| (3) Organised by the Singapore Dragon Boat Association, a total of six teams took part in the People’s Association (PA) Dragon Boat Championship Corporate category held at the Singapore River on 12 November 2006. | (4) The EA’s 12-crew team met up and practised hard once a week for six weeks at the Kallang River to prepare for the race. | |

| (5) Except for Angeline Pereira who is an experienced rower, most were unfamiliar with any kind of rowing, let alone in a dragon boat, until they came together to form the EA team. | (6) “Our nerves got the better of us perhaps due to the lack of experience. By comparison, the coordination for the SDS and the Singapore Scouts Association teams was fantastic. | |

| (7) Nonetheless, this race sparked our passion for dragon boat racing and we had lots of fun. | (8) Our members are now raving to form an official EA dragon boat team and to do better for future races,” said Angeline of EA’s debut attempt. | |
